Willie "Billie" Abernathy (Burns)
Willie Jean “Billie” Abernathy, age 95, of Glen Allen, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Woodland Hills of Marble Hill, Missouri.
Billie was born on July 22, 1922 in Glen Allen, Missouri; daughter of the late Marvin L. and Clara (Lincoln) Burns. On June 28, 1941 she married the love of her life, Charles David Abernathy. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1998.
At the time of her passing, Billie was the oldest member of the Glen Allen United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Glen Allen United Methodist Church Choir and the United Methodist Women. Billie was a homemaker and she was devoted to her late husband and her family. From her youth on up she was a Christian and throughout her adult life worked in the church alongside her husband, Charles. Billie was a beautiful lady, always so joyful and happy--- she was a blessing to all our lives.
Billie is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann (Allen) Clark of Glen Allen, MO., and Barbara (Jennings) Wilkinson of Marble Hill, MO; two granddaughters, Regina Clark (Jonathan) Finch of Jackson, MO., and Rebecca Clark (Don) McFarland of Jackson, MO; great-grandchildren Connor Finch, Willie, John, and Jacob McFarland all from Jackson, MO; loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and three sisters Mary Hargiss, Ruth Nathaniel, and Mae Anderson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Mitchell officiating. Interment will take place in the Glen Allen Cemetery in Glen Allen, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Glen Allen United Methodist Church.
