Doris Jean Cook-Rhodes, 79, of Zalma, Missouri, and formerly of Marble Hill, MO, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
She was born November 14, 1938 in Lutesville, MO; daughter of Earnest R. and Robbie S. Hollingsworth Leadbetter. She and Norman Cook were united in marriage on September 1, 1956 and he passed away on November 4, 2008. She then married Charles Rhodes on August 8, 2015.
She worked for Deal Nursing Home in Jackson, MO and later retired from the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson, MO. Doris was a CNA/CMT and a member of the Lutesville General Baptist Church near Marble Hill.
Survivors include her husband Charles of Zalma; son; Daniel (Tina) Cook of Jackson, MO., daughters; Debbie (Bill) Newell of Oak Ridge, MO; Robin (Mike) Macke of Jackson, MO; Teresa (Tim) Bargery of Hornbeak, Tennessee; two step daughters Linda (Darrell) Renfro of Edwardsville, IL., Pat Hovis of St. Louis, MO; three step-sons Mike (Nora) Rhodes of Neosho, MO., John (Gail) Rhodes of Zalma, MO., David (Denise) Rhodes of Lebanon, TN; brother; Jack (Karen) Leadbetter Columbia, IL; sisters, Sue Gray of Glen Allen, MO; Lynette (Mike) Clardy of Cape Girardeau, MO., Hibernia (Bill) Hovis of Greenville, MO; two sister in-laws Jo Leadbetter of Cape Girardeau, MO. and Debbie Leadbetter of Kansas City, MO.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sixteen step-grandchildren and twenty step-great grandchildren and two step-great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ray and Don Leadbetter, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO. Funeral Service will be conducted 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Liley Funeral Home with Rev. Jr. Davis officiating.
Interment will take place in the Hurricane Fork Church Cemetery near Marble Hill, Missouri.
