Donald Dean Nelson, age 87, of Marble Hill, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was born August 17, 1922 in Madison County, Idaho, son of Anthon and Cornelia Harriman Nelson. He and Iva E. Cook were united in marriage on May 10, 1962 and she died March 24, 2005.
Mr. Nelson was a member of the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church.
He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII.
Survivors include: one son, Robert Wayne "Bobby" Nelson of St. Louis, one sister, Shirley Oliver of the state of Washington, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, October 30, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Fulbright officiating. Burial will be at the Hurricane Fork Cemetery.
