Alternative Choices

There are other services that Liley Funeral Homes offers. Some of these are listed and described below. If you have any questions about our services, please feel free to contact one of our funeral directors for help and information.

Forwarding of Remains

Involves sending the remains, by commercial airline, to another funeral home for services and burial. Private aircraft can also be used, but is generally cost prohibitive. Many times there will be a visitation/viewing or ceremony here before the remains are sent.

If the destination if within about 300 miles of our funeral homes, Liley will usually drive the remains to the other funeral home. Our funeral directors will be able to advise you on the best solution for your situation.

Receiving of Remains

Receiving the casketed remains of the deceased from another funeral home that is out-of-the-area. Some families elect to have a visitation and ceremony here, while others just want a graveside committal ceremony.

Donation of Remains to Medical School

When the remains are taken, as soon as possible after death, to a local medical school. There is no ceremony with the remains present however, most families plan a memorial gathering or ceremony for a later time. Generally, the deceased will have made prior arrangements with the medical school to accept their remains. For more information about medical school donation, please visit:
