Jamie Lynn Sweazea, fondly called “Peachie” by her family, was the youngest of 11 children. She was much-loved by her siblings and loved them well in return. Jamie also shared a very special bond with her mother. They lived together most of Jamie’s life and in the last few years, were roommates at Woodland Hills.
After graduating from school, Jamie enjoyed working for many years at VIP Industries in Marble Hill, a sheltered work environment that offers employment to adults with disabilities. Jamie formed many deep friendships with her co-workers, as well as with the staff during her time there.
Jamie loved and lived for music. You could often find her listening to music, singing, and dancing. Especially to her beloved Reba McIntire, of whom she was her #1 fan. Jamie always looked forward to shopping at Wal-Mart each week. While there, she could be found picking out CDs or in the jewelry department choosing a new watch to add to her ever-growing wristwatch collection. Jamie also knew a great fashion trend when she saw one, and was never without her fanny-pack, where she regularly carried her favorite drink, Diet Mt. Dew.
Jamie never met a stranger. With her happy, outgoing, and cheerful disposition, she made friends easily. She could be flirtatious and would take any opportunity to talk with a handsome fellow. Jamie was also strong-willed, and she could be stubborn. Although she adored her many nieces and nephews, she made it clear when she’d had enough and needed alone time to listen to her music.
Jamie will be remembered for the joy and happiness she brought to her family, her infectious laugh, and how her eyes sparkled when she smiled. She also leaves behind many precious memories, for all those who loved and cherished her. She truly was our gift from God.
