Dewel Edward Smith born Oct. 30th, 1932 passed away March 16th, 2020 at the Northcare Hospice House Kansas City Mo. At the age of 87.

Dewel’s parents were Marion & Florence Smith. To this union were born three children, Dewel, JD, Helen.

Dewel was married to Betty Catherine Jones on May 4th, 1952. They had four children, Mark, Tom, Susie “Kathryn”, Doug. Dewel & Betty were married 65 years. Dewel served in the Army National Guard as a gunner. Dewel loved ministering to people, encouraging those who were hurting, lifting up those who were struggling. Dewel preached 67 years & led many to Christ. Dewel loved farming, driving road graders, working with His hands, cabinet making, welding & carpentry. Dewel was a Loving Husband, a caring Father, & a great friend to all.

Dewel fought a good fight, kept the Faith & finished His course. Dewel (Smitty) will be greatly missed by all who knew Him.

Dewel Is survived by His three sons, Mark (Wife Theresa) St Joseph Mo. Tom (Wife Sandi) Wasola Mo. Doug (Wife Melonie) Doe Run Mo. Son-n-law Kevin Miller. Nine Grand Children, Rachel, Treva, Jennifer, Brian, Jason, Karen, Kayla, Ethan, Morgan. Ten Great Grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Ava, Alicia, Jacob, Haylea, Madison, Parker, Trinity, Eliana. One granddaughter coming any day-Audrey May. One Great-Great Grandchild, Emma Crews.

Dewel was proceeded in death by His Parents Marion & Florence Smith, His wife Betty Smith, daughter Kathryn Smith.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Old Bethel Cemetery near Patton, MO with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating.
